LetStudy English

Present Continuous (I am Doing)
John is in his car. He is on her way to work.
He is driving to work.
This Means : He is driving now, at the time of speaking.

We Use Present Continuouse Tense When :
-    We talk about something which is happening at the time of speaking :
Example : - Please don’t make so much noise, I’m studying (Not : I study)
-    Let’s go out now. It isn’t raining any more.

-    We talk about something which is happening around the time of speaking, but not necessarily exactly at the os speaking :
Example : - Tom and John are talking and drinking in Café. Tom says : “ I’m reading an
interesting book at the moment. I’ll lend it to you when I’ve finish it “.
-    Ann is learning English at the moment. (not : learns)

-    We talk about a period around the present :
Example : - You are working hard today. “Yes, I have a lot to do”.
                  - John isn’t playing football this season.

-    We talk ablout changing situation :
Example : - The population of the world is rising.
-    Is your English getting better ?
